1930 elected to Victorian branch executive of PTTA; assistant secretary 1943-47; Secretary 1948, appointed full-time 1949. 1954 elected General Secretary; Delegate to ALP, competent arbitration advocate providing ‘wise counsel’. Retired 1963 to Rye on Mornington Peninsula. Awarded MBE.
