Jane Aarons

B.? D.? M. Louis Aarons, boot repairer, 1s.3d. Secular humanist.

Immigrant from New York. Victorian Socialist Party activist; also member of Women’s Political Association & Militant Propagandists of the Labour Movement; with R.S. Ross (q.v.), represented VSP at April 1916 peace conference; arrested for displaying Red Flag at Yarra Bank meeting Nov. 1918; foundation member of Melbourne Branch CPA 1920. Visited London and Ceylon 1926, supporting independence for Ceylon and other British colonies. Children Sam, Annette (qq.v.?), June & Miriam, and grandchildren Laurie and Eric (qq.v) also active in CPA.
