Educated at Melbourne University, M.B., B.S., 1910; M.D. 1917; Joined Communist Party, Melbourne in 1931 and became activist; Avid reader and popular speaker at the Yarra Bank, local halls, streets and factory gates; Contested Senate for CP in Victoria, 1934; Contested seat of Corio? for CP in 1939 by-election; Held Marxist tutorial classes in Melbourne, c.1937; Became member, CPA-ML; Visited Soviet Union, 1958 and China in 1964; Author of paper: ‘Why You Should Join the Communist Party of Australia’.
